Professor Akgun is a Professor of Public Health in Baskent University School of Medicine and Oklahoma University, School of Public Health with more than 20 plus years of strong experience in data management, statistical analyses, quality and accreditation in health care, patient safety and epidemiological studies including the assessment of burden of diseases and health and nutritional status indices. She is also a quality expert and serving Baskent University as their Chief Quality Officer for the 10 hospitals that belong to the University since 1997. The variety of research topics she has addressed with collaboration of several international technical supports demonstrates the wide scope of her interests in public health and her commitment to a comprehensive and holistic approach to health issues. She serves many European, Turkish and international organizations as their advisor on healthcare reform and on system assessment and monitoring. She led a number of projects in the Middle East and Mediterranean Region, Central and Europe including projects supported by World Bank, EU and WHO on system reform and evaluation of alternative care delivery models and mechanisms, performance assessment, hospital surveying, patient care outcomes assessment, migrant health, burden of disease among many more such projects. She also accumulated considerable experience performing system assessment, capacity building and performance measurements of a variety of healthcare facilities in rural areas of Azerbaijan and several other Eastern European countries. She serves a number of European, Turkish and international organizations as their advisor on healthcare reform and on system assessment and monitoring and delivered a number of workshops and seminars on system development, data management, and performance improvement to multiple health professional groups in Azerbaijan, India, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Kuwait, Germany and some other countries.
In her recent experience leading a country-wide project in Azerbaijan; Professor Akgun was able to develop a country-wide accreditation and licensing system. Professor Akgun completed a similar but much wider focus project for the Turkish Ministry of Health looking at the burden of the top ten diseases on the economics of the healthcare system in the country in collaboration with the WHO. As an international expert and heath service researcher, Professor Akgun has been extremely active in the scientific presentation circles and has presented in excess of 200 presentations to a wide range of audiences world-wide. She is also a prolific writer and has to her credit more than 250 scientific articles and three books in such topics as quality and accreditation in health care, healthcare management, health system assessment and design, strategic planning and data management.

Dr. Al-Assaf is a physician and a consultant in preventive medicine and quality management.
Dr. Al-Assaf is serving the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center as the Associate Dean for International Health the Presbyterian Health Foundation Presidential Professor and Professor of Health Administration and Policy at the college of Public Health.He is frequent consultant for the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Veterans Affairs Health System, US Agency for International Development (USAID), Hospital Corporation of America, Selected Professional Associations, World Bank, UNDP, UNICEF, World Health Organization (WHO), and the American Association for World Health. He has provided advice on healthcare quality and preventive medicine to a number of organizations in countries in the Mid-East, North America, North Africa, South East and Central Asia and Eastern Europe. Dr. Al-Assaf is a recipient of 50 awards and recognitions.
As a researcher and public speaker, Dr. Al-Assaf has published ten books, five book chapters, and over 120 scientific and professional publications in national and international journals, and presented lectures, seminars, or workshops to over 2500 groups and organizations both nationally and internationally. He is the recepient of many awards and honors including Who’s Who in America and the World.

After graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Health Education Mehmet Kaymakçı got his postgraduate degree from the same University on Adult Education. He is working as a Substitute Manager of Patient Rights Affiliate since 2007. By February 2004 he started to give training on Patient Rights addressed to the staff of government hospital staff such as chairs of the patient right boards and unit managers. Kaymakçı who is also responsible from the design and concept of the web page of Ministry of Health on Patient Rights, attends to panels, seminars and workshops as a conferencier.

Nazmi Tutal was graduated from Selçuk University Faculty of Construction Engineering in 1992. After graduation he worked as a constructor for a period of time. In conjunction with Marmara Earthquake, he started to work with the health sector. Tutal worked on the projects of Earthquake Directives, Emergency State Guidelines in collaboration with Turkish Arm Forces. By 2003 Tutal got interested in Patient Rights and started to work on this subject. First he became a member of an association which soon he became the general coordinator of it. With the help of association he belong to, Tutal had a chance to give trainings and seminars about Patient Rights. The trainings and seminars he gave was addressed to first of all patients and patient carers and then lots of NGO’s, associations, unions and political parties.

In this position, he oversees the Medical City's Clinical Audit activities and preparation for Accreditation. Dr. Nasir had his MD from the American University of Beirut, Lebanon and completed Residency Training in Internal Medicine at Northwestern University, Chicago, Ill. U.S.A. and Fellowship training in Cardiology at Loyola University Maywood, Ill. U.S.A.,
Dr. Nasir had a long career as a practicing cardiologist with the Saudi ARAMCO Medical Organization Dhahran, Saudi Arabia (1978 – 2003). He occupied several leadership positions in ARAMCO Medical Organization as Chief of Internal Medicine and Cardiology Department and Director of Clinical Medical Services. He chaired and participated in many oversight committees.
At King Fahad Medical City, Dr. Nasir currently chairs the Pharmacy and Therapeutic Committee and is Co-Chairman of the Accreditation Steering Committee and Patient Safety Committee and is a member of the Medical Ethics Committee.

Nasir Warfa, PhD, is senior lecturer with Queen Mary University of London (QMUL), UK. Dr Warfa is also the deputy director for QMUL’s MSc studies in Psychological Therapies and Transcultural Psychiatry. His research interests include qualitative and quantitative investigations and evidence synthesis with a particular focus on the social and psychological wellbeing of refugee populations and ethnic minority communities. For many years, Dr Warfa has taught refugee related topics both as part of the MSc programme he runs from QMUL, and as a guest lecturer with University College London, University of Kent and Brunel University. In 2010, Dr Warfa was nominated for Queen Mary University of London’s Draper Award for Excellence in Teaching. 
Dr Warfa makes regular contributions to international conferences and summer schools, including the well-established summer School on Migration and Psychological Medicine at Karolinska Institute organised by Professor Solvig Ekbal. He currently manages the UK website on health of migrants and ethnic minorities which received financial support from the EU’s Directorate-General for Health and Consumer Protection. 16 other partners from Austria, Belgium, Germany, Greece, Hungary, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Sweden, Turkey, Switzerland, Norway, Romania and Denmark are also taking part in this project (http://mighealth.net/index.php/Main_Page, for more information). Dr was also a Member of the UK National Refugee Integration Forum (Health group) where he and his colleagues advised the UK government on various issues concerning social and psychological wellbeing of refugees and asylum seekers. Until this year, he was on the Management Committee of the European consortium on the Health and Social Care for Migrants and Ethnic Minorities in Europe.

Dr Warfa has co-published many peer-reviewed articles and book chapters on refugee mental health. His latest paper on “new place of living, eroding resilience and psychological distress among Somali immigrants in the UK and USA” is being considered for publication. His academic and research activities are aimed to contribute to the ongoing global efforts to understand, and respond to, the health and social care rights of refugees and migrant populations.

Dr Moza is the pioneer of Risk Management & Patient Safety Program in the Middle East. She had her Ph.D from Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis, USA focusing on patient safety, and human errors. She had her Masters Degree in Health Science focusing on Community Health and Epidemiology from the University of Arkansas, USA. She also had her second Masters Degree on Nursing Administration from Indiana University, USA.
Since finishing her doctorate in 2009, she has been involved in several training and teaching programs on patient safety, healthcare risk management, and root cause analysis. Also, worked as an investigator and trainer and has been involved in Quality Care, Patient Safety and Root Cause Analysis training and teaching programs. She worked as senior infection control coordinator for many years. She worked as a chairman for Root cause investigations. She is the Assitant executive Director of Risk Management & Patient safety, Chairman of International Patient Safety Goals Committe, and chairman of Risk Management Corporate Committee. She trained, motivated and supported many staff at Hamad Medical Corporation since 2009 until now.

Dr. Moza was one of the PhD winner students selected for the Education Excellence Day for the academic outstanding achievers; got Platinum Medal and awarded by HH Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, Heir Apparent. Hilmi Uysal, MD, Neurologist, is a Professor at the Akdeniz University Faculty of Medicine, Neurology Department. Since 2005, he has been working in Clinical Electrophysiology and EMG Laboratory in Akdeniz University Hospital in Antalya. Much of his recent research has focused on spinal reflex organization. He has also investigated the monitoring of swallowing and respiration, electrophysiologicalfindings of obstetric brachial plexus lesions and axonal excitability. He is director of the Akdeniz University Academic Members Association and monthly review “Academic Consciousness”.

He was born in Adana in 1969. He completed his primary, middle and high school education in Adana. He was graduated from Ankara University School of Law in 1990. He has completed his Master's and PhD education in Ankara University Institute of Social Sciences Private Law-Civil Law department. Within the Ministry of Justice, after finishing stages of the entrance examinations for the judge's candidacy and internship, he has fulfilled the task of judges in the years 1994-1997. In March of 1997, his assignment has been done as a research assistant at Ankara University Faculty of Law. In 2005, he won the title of associate professor of civil law. In 2010, by the Rectorate of Ankara University, he has been promoted to Civil Law professor staff at Faculty of Law Department of Private Law.
Currently, he is working as a professor of civil law at the Faculty of Law at Ankara University. His working areas are mainly the sub-branches of the civil law and the law of obligations and the current issues of health and medical law.

Prof. Dr. Nermin Ersoy has been a medical ethicist and medical historian since 1986. Now she is the faculty member of Kocaeli University, Faculty of Medicine and has been the director of the Department of Medical Ethics & History of Medicine for 15 years. Dr. Ersoy was the founder member of Human Researches Ethics Committee, Hospital Ethics Committee, and University Ethics Committee. She is also the director of Kocaeli Clinical Research Ethics Committee. She has more than 75 national and international publications related to bioethics and medical history, such as informed consent, end of life issues, resource allocation, research ethics, nursing ethics, decision-making, HIV testing, triage, international sanitary conferences, and old Turkish manuscripts. She has supervised several dissertations and research projects. She was the president of First National Medical Ethics Congress and has been organized numerous conferences and courses for clinicians and ethicist.

She graduated from Hacettepe University on 1983. And she worked at Hacettepe University Hospital as a social worker between 1985- 1990. After then she begun to work at Hacettepe University by order as a research assistant and then assistant proffessor and at last assoc. Prof.
Küçükkaraca, copleted her master thesis at 1987 and its subjects about medical social work. It is title is,” Medical Social Work” (A General and Specific Assessment of Case Works with 550 Patients at 8 Hospitals in Ankara), and her doctoral thesis also is about “Workers Family Who Return Migration to the Village”
She is interested in general about social problems, and social justice and right based problems, such as women, child, forced migration, patient rights.

27.10.1961 yılında Kuyucak/AYDIN’da doğdu. Ege Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi’nden 1986 yılında mezun oldu. Sırasıyla Posof/Ardahan ve Antalya Devlet Hastanelerinde acil servis hekimi, Göynük/Kemer Sağlık Ocağı sorumlu hekimi olarak çalıştı. Antalya’daki hizmet süreci içinde ayrıca turizm alanında  işyeri hekimi olarak da görev yaptı.
Hizmet sürecinde, 2004-2009 yılları arasında Ankara Üniversitesi Sağlık Bilimleri Enstitüsü'ne bağlı olarak Tıp Fakültesi Deontoloji Anabilim Dalı'nda Tıp Tarihi ve Etik alanında doktora eğitimini sürdürdü ve Haziran 2009’da bilim doktoru unvanı aldı.
Halen Eylül 2010 tarihinden itibaren Akdeniz Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Tıp Tarihi ve Etik Anabilim Dalında öğretim görevlisi olarak çalışmaktadır.

It approachs to our administrations in a different direction, mentions our reasoning style that assures our faith about patient rights, which brings an accelerition to our job of work. It explains our emotional understanding of patient rights which must be understood, exists in the essence of patient rights. İf we have a chance to make a voyage to the timelines of B.C which are slightly known or if it is possible to open out dusty pages of the past and search patient rights between, we find ourselves in Kos İsland, we see Asclepion which contains an ancient medical school and notice an old man in the garden who instructs his studients to preserve the purity of their lives and arts. Dr. Gürbüz AKÇAY works as Hospital Chief of Medical Staff and Pediatrician since 2005 in Servergazi State Hospital. He graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine in 1991. He worked at special and goverment hospitals as pediatrician and hospital manager since 1999. Since the first day working at Servergazi Hospital, he established the culture of total quality and excellence by providing structural end sustainable improvements and advances in patient-oriented, reliable service for the provision of care and treatment. PATH (Performance Assesment Toll for quality improvement in Hospitals) Project by the World Health Organization Regional Office for Europe carried out since 2003. In 2009, T.C. Ministry of Health also participated in the project. Dr. Gurbuz Akcay has made reasonable efforts to take place of Servergazi Denizli State Hospital in 14 selected hospitals .Integrated Management System Built in Servergazi State Hospital. These systems, EN ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System, TS 18001:2008 Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Management System and ISO 10002:2006 Customer Satisfaction Management System in accordance with established standards and requirements as defined in IMS-Integrated Management System. Dr. Gürbüz Akcay, the institution is currently preparing the infrastructure of the ISO 27001 Information Security Management System. JCI and the institutional infrastructure prepared by the EFQM model, the teams completed training. Dr. Gurbuz AKCAY as well as in the field of Health Informatics, has been operating. First, in 2007 and served as an advisor to a hospital PACS system in the development of local programmers. In this study, even after the PACS systems in our country reach the district level hospitals have. Nowadays, he works as consultant for document management system, mobile medicine and telemedicine projects.
